Humanitarian Efforts
In the wake of recent local, national and global disasters, Harris has provided relief in the forms of donations, matching gifts, special loan programs and volunteer assistance.

Midwest Flood Relief: Harris made a corporate donation of $50,000 to the Red Cross’ Central U.S. Floods and Tornadoes Relief Fund that will help with the Red Cross’ efforts in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Harris worked closely with our impacted retail and business customers and put together a program that included loan payment relief, as well as low-interest rate loans, to help during the recovery process. These programs were available to customers living in communities declared a disaster area by FEMA., Harris also sent their Mobile Response Units in both Indiana and Wisconsin to assist with clean-up efforts. |

China and Myanmar Disaster Relief: In response to the earthquake in China and the cyclone in Myanmar, Bill Downe, President & CEO of Bank of Montreal Financial Group, facilitated a $150,000 donation to the Red Cross and matched employee donations made in support of the international Red Cross relief efforts. Harris participated in the matching program, and joined with over 800 bank-wide employees, to raise over $100,000. |
