Annual All-Employee Volunteer Day

On June 25, 2008, more than 750 employees of Harris and BMO Capital Markets took to the streets in an effort to make a difference at over 30 community organizations in Illinois, Indiana, New York, Texas and Wisconsin communities. The total number of employees who volunteered for Harris’ second annual "Our Ambition is to Help" Volunteer Day more than doubled the turnout from last year's premiere event.

Harris CEO Ellen Costello joined employees at the Carole Robertson Center for Learning in Chicago to read to young children and assist teachers with daily lesson plans. In Kokomo, IN, Harris employees spruced up the outside of the Howard County Domestic Violence Shelter by cleaning, painting and landscaping. In Elmhurst, IL, Harris employees helped the Elmhurst YMCA host a carnival for the summer day campers. And, in Libertyville, IL, Harris employees worked at Lambs Farm washing vans, and windows, while pitching in on various maintenance projects around the farm.
