Why does my User ID automatically display once I type in the first character of the ID?
Internet Explorer defaults to a setting called “AutoComplete” that
provides an automatic display or completion of a User ID and password on a
web forms (such as the log-in page for Harris Online Banking). This setting
also “remembers” web addresses that you have previously visited.
Perhaps you have noticed this when typing in the first few characters of a
URL.
Although this is a convenience, we suggest that you disable this setting
to ensure that no one other than you has access to your online information.
By disabling this setting, you will be required to enter your User ID and password
each time you log in to any online site. To disable this feature:
With Internet Explorer open, click on “Tools” from menu bar at
the top of the page.
From the drop down menu, click on “Internet Options”
“Internet Options” will appear in a separate window, click on
the tab titled “Content”
Under the “Content” tab, in the section titled “Personal
Information” click on the "AutoComplete" button and you will
see your current “Auto Complete” settings for: Web Addresses, Forms,
and User Names and Passwords on Forms”.
Disable or enable various settings by checking or unchecking the corresponding
boxes. You should then click on “Clear Forms” and “Clear
Passwords” to ensure any previously stored information is deleted.
Save your new settings by clicking the “OK” button at the bottom
of the window.

Safety
Is Harris Online Banking secure?
The security of your financial information is of utmost importance to us. In order to safeguard the information available in Harris Online Banking, we have taken several precautions to ensure your safety:
| • |
|
We require strong encryption. Encryption is the method of "scrambling" information to protect its transmission over the Internet. You must use a browser that contains 128-bit encryption. |
| • |
|
You choose your password. It can be any combination of letters and numbers between 6-16 characters. You must enter your password every time you want to access your account information. It should be kept completely confidential, known only to you. |
| • |
|
We have established firewalls. To build a barrier between an internal network and the Internet, a firewall is installed. The firewall becomes the only way anyone can access the network from outside. Because everything entering the network has to pass through the firewall, it controls all traffic between the network and everything outside it. Therefore, unauthorized users cannot access your account information. |
| • |
|
We have a session time-out feature. If you remain inactive within your Harris Online Banking session for 15 minutes, the system will automatically require your User ID and password to be entered before allowing any new transactions. |
