  • Windows of Opportunity, Chicago Housing Authority's (CHA) non-profit affiliate, presented Yasmin Bates-Brown with the "Touching the Spirit" award on Oct. 29. The event honored individuals for their personal and professional accomplishments and for reaching back to encourage and support those currently in the Chicago public housing communities.
  • Harris' Darrel Hackett, Senior Vice President, Small Business, was recognized by Crain's Chicago Business as one of their "40 under 40" honorees.
  • On Oct. 29, Harris received the Chicagoland Workplace Excellence Award presented by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and Right Management. The award recognizes organizations that improve their competitive advantage through people practices that create value and positive impact for their business and workforce.
  • Harris achieved a perfect 100 percent rating in the 2010 edition of the Corporate Equality Index, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual measure of how equitably U.S.-based businesses treat their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees.
  • Harris CEO Ellen Costello was selected to be honored as one of three Chicago recipients of a new award presented by the Chicago Region Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), the CEO Leadership Circle of Excellence. The purpose of this award is to highlight CEOs whose personal leadership and commitment to diversity are models for the corporate community.
  • Jamie Thorsen (BMO) is featured in the September/October 2009 Diversity Journal "Women Worth Watching" publication, recognizing leading business women.
  • Judy Rice, VP Director of Government Relations, and Wallace Harris, Jr., SVP District Executive, Harris South were recently named top business leaders in Chicago by Chicago United. The business advocacy organization will feature both Rice and Harris in Chicago United’s 2009 Business Leaders of Color publication.
  • DiversityInc - Top Ten Companies for Executive Women - 2008.
  • Vault - Top 50 Investment Banking Firms for Diversity.
